Product Description

The HM126 was designed and engineered by Woodland Mills to fill a void in the sawmill industry. The reliable HM126 offers sawyers an economical and durable solution to their needs. From the powder-coated structure, to the reliable 9.5 H.P. Kohler gas/petrol engine, this mill will exceed your expectations. All major steel components feature either a powder coated or galvanized steel finish. This ensures your mill will stand up to nature’s elements. We recommend covering your mill when not in use, but if you forget, it’s good to know the mill will endure nature. The head moves up and down along galvanized steel channel via a very easy to turn hand crank system. The blade is kept lubricated by utilizing a water drip system. This prevents sap from gumming up your blade.

The mill is capable of cutting 26" (66cm) diameter logs up to 10’ 5” (3.1m) long. Additional track sections are available in 6’ 5” (1.95m) lengths. Capable of squaring cants at 19" (48cm) or skimming veneers at as thin as 1/16" (2mm). The HM126 will cut within 1" (25mm) of the deck ensuring you maximize your usable board foot output.

The HM126 sawmill is powered by a 9.5 HP Kohler gas/petrol engine. It features a slant cylinder design, with a cast iron cylinder bore and overhead valve for easy access. The Quad-Clean 4-stage air filtration system ensures only clean air enters the engine for maximum power and life of the engine. In addition, this engine is backed by a 3 year commercial warranty. Attached to the engine is an industrial centrifugal clutch system which offers “gas and go” efficiency and ease.

Track System

The head of our machine rolls along rigid 2.5″ x 4″ (63mm x 101mm) “L” channel which is cross supported with heavy duty 3″ x 6″ (76mm x 152mm) rectangle tube. These cross supports ensure the weight of the log is dispersed over a large bearing surface to avoid marking the log with indentation. These heavy duty cross supports also provide additional rigidity to the track system. The track also features a simple adjustable log support to securely hold the log while milling. The track itself consists of two 6’ 5” (1.95m) sections allowing for 10’ 5” (3.1m) log lengths. Additional 6’ 5” (1.95m) tracks may be attached to accommodate logs of any length.

The HM126 utilizes 1.25″ x 144″ x 0.042″ (32mm x 3660mm x 1.0mm) Lenox hardened tipped blades which are available through Woodland Mills. Blade kerf is kept to a minimum at just .080″ (2mm) to maximize the most amount of lumber per log.

The sawmill is covered with a 2 year warranty against manufacturer’s defect and excludes wearing parts (belts, blades & bearings). The Kohler engine is covered by a 3 year commercial warranty which is honoured through any Kohler small engine dealer.

  2. I have four sons and we are enjoying the Woodland 126 Sawmill very much. First order of business when we got the mill operational was to saw lumber and put it in a makeshift kiln then build a shed over the mill. We did purchase a few treated post but for the most part the shed was built using lumber we sawed. The roof was from some metal scavenged from a re-roof of my sons house.A storm came thru and blew over an oak tree in my sons yard so naturally we put it on the mill. A co-worker was clearing some land for a pond and gave us the pine trees that were pushed down. With a little hard work transporting the trees we now have enough to saw for a while. I am very pleased with the Woodlands mill and have since purchased a track extension so that we can saw 16 feet lumber. Now that our sawmill shed is mostly complete, we are on a mission to saw a lot of lumber! The people at Woodlands were great to work with and they answered any questions and the product in my opinion is a great value. Thank each of you for your great product and service! Kenneth J. Hi Guys Here are the pics from our loading the mill into a Cessna 206 for a trip to its home in the Idaho backcountry. Later that afternoon we were sawing 6"x6" posts for a Jeep garage. Thank you for the quality machine. The 9.5 engine does a good job and the whole thing is easy to use. Blade changes area a snap. I had to place it on dirt to get it started and that was a challenge, but will soon be bolting it to concrete. Thanks, Allen
