Tractor Requirements

The WG24 stump grinder is designed to work on tractors with a PTO shaft. The stump grinder works best on tractors featuring PTO shafts that are independent of the tractors transmission drive system. This allows the operator to control the speed of the tractor independently and separately to the PTO speed. Since the tractor pulls the grinder through the stump, the rate at which the tractor moves is important and should be independent of the PTO shaft. Operating the WG24 stump grinder at 540 RPM is required. The below tool will aid in the compatibility of your tractor with the WG24 stump grinder.

PTO Shaft

Included with the WG24 Stump Grinder is a slip clutch style PTO shaft.

  1. In the foreground is the remains of an apple stump. I have used your stump grinder on 8 hardwood stumps, maple, ash, birch, in sizes up to 2.5 Ft diameter. It certainly does the job and I am very pleased with it.

    Location: QC Canada

  2. Purchased the WG24 stump grinder and extremely satisfied with its performance. I wish I purchased it years ago. Using it on my Kubota B3200 and even though its a smaller tractor it works perfectly. Ordered on a Friday and arrived in 6 days ... very nicely shipped and actually used the steel shipping crate and made a work bench out of it (nice bonus). Grinds stumps much faster than expected and the build quality is outstanding. The only drawback is now every neighbor has a stump to remove but now I'm invited to all the cookouts. Well worth the money... Thanks!

  3. Hi Lori, Here are some before and after pictures of my back yard. I have chewed up hundreds of stumps on my property to date without a single problem. The transformation was accomplished with a chainsaw and the WM24 Stump Grinder on a 25 HP Compact tractor. (and maybe a little hard work and a few fires.) I highly recommend the Stump Grinder. It's a great attachment.

  4. My name is Carter Ferguson and I would highly recommend the Woodland Mills stump grinder. If you have any stumps don't pay the high prices that big companies charge, buy one and you can do it on your own and even make a few bucks on the side.  ( I do in the Lombardi ON area) The stump grinder is easy to hook up and easy to run.

  5. We have removed about 30 stumps with our grinder, it works awesome!

  6. Hi Lori I couldn't be happier with the stump grinder. It's everything I hoped it would be. So far I have grinded over 40 trees on my property ranging in diameter from 6" to 38". I had a long row of silver willows that I wanted to get rid of and this did the job perfectly I set it up on my Kabota BX2360. It worked hard but worked great.

  7. Hi Lori, I do have a lot of work for the grinder and it works really well. I'm very happy. Those are called Arika palms they grow into clumps of multiple trees and when they seed they will sprout the seeds also and spread out even wider. They are very soft and very fibrous and hold lots of moisture. When i'm grind this type of tree stump I have to climb off the tractor about five time to rake the mulch away so i can see whats left of the stump. Its like raking wet concrete. I also do Coconut palms they are very soft and not quite as fibrous with cocos you get more of a powder mulch. Aloha, Gerard

  8.   I have removed several stumps and have had no problems with the grinder, Thanks

  9. This is one beefy stump grinder!  I was able to easily grind over 20 decent sized eucalyptus stumps over a span of 2 days.  A worthwhile investment and I'm glad I got this instead of hiring people to do since I can grind the stumps at my own pace.

  10. Lori ,  here is a photo of my new Woodland Mills stump grinder.  I had approximately 20 stumps 36” to 42” in diameter, it did the job…  thanks “Happy Customer”.
