The Woodland Mills WC88XL 20 cm (8") PTO driven wood chipper is designed for tractors with 45 to 100+ HP at the PTO. The chipper uses a drive belt and pulley configuration to ensure a more optimal speed for chip throwing and airflow. The drive belt system is encased by a 6 mm (¼”) thick steel guard which can be quickly folded forward, providing quick and complete access to the entire drive system. The PTO shaft (included with chipper) connects the tractor and the chipper's lower 50 mm (2”) shaft.

Information

The WC88XL is a heavy-duty chipper featuring a self-contained hydraulic infeed system and an 20 cm x 20 cm (8″ x 8″) opening that makes it easy to feed branches of all shapes and sizes. It's capable of chipping up to 15 cm (6") diameter material.

The WC88 has a large 59 cm x 69 cm (23” x 27”) infeed hopper opening that tapers down to a 20 cm x 20 cm (8” x 8”) opening where the 20 cm (8") diameter roller grabs the branches and feeds them through the chipper. Branches as small as 6 mm (¼”) diameter and as large as 20 cm (8”) diameter can be fed through the WC88XL. The infeed chute can also be folded up to decrease the footprint of the chipper during transport or storage.

To chip full 20 cm (8”) diameter logs at full infeed speed, a tractor with over 80HP at the PTO is required. The PTO shaft can be cut to length (if required) to fit your tractor, as per the manual. Four heavy-duty cogged BX series drive belts run up to the flywheel main shaft. These belts are standard off-the-shelf replacement parts. The tensioning system can easily be pulled back out of the way to allow the belts to be changed out quickly.

The dynamically balanced 61 cm (24”) diameter, 2.5 cm (1”) thick solid steel flywheel runs on a 5 cm (2”) diameter shaft, supported by 2 industrial and greasable flanged bearings. It features four CNC-machined pockets to hold the reversible blades. The flywheel also features four large fan blade paddles that spin at over 1100 RPM, ensuring maximum airflow.

The WC88XL chipper utilises four high-quality hardened steel reversible chipper blades. These blades are 90 degrees apart, and can be reversed to take advantage of having two cutting edges on each blade. The blades are held onto the flywheel with two countersunk M10 bolts and locking nuts. Blades can be changed very quickly, thanks to the clamshell flywheel housing design. Simply undo one bolt and the upper flywheel housing rotates open, providing full access to the flywheel and chipper blades. No more unsafe blade changes with the Woodland Mills flywheel locking pin. The WC88XL features a flywheel locking pin that makes blade changes or flywheel maintenance convenient and safe. The pin simply fits into a series of holes that are positioned so every blade can be easily accessed while being changed or reversed.

The base of the chipper is heavy-duty, made of 6 mm (1/4″) thick laser cut steel plates. This base can also be adjusted so the PTO shaft sits at 40 cm to 55 cm (15-5/8″ to 21-5/8″) off the ground to suit various tractor sizes. It has a Category 1, 3-point hitch system that is designed to work with tractors rated at 45-100+ PTO horsepower. It’s also quick hitch compatible, allowing for faster, easier hookups so you can get to work sooner.

If you are not satisfied with the purchase of your Woodland Mills product, you can return it in its original packaging for a refund. Returns must be made within 30 days of the invoice date and the cost of shipping to and from the customer are non- refundable. Used accessories cannot be returned for refund. There is a limit of one return per customer.

Remedy

The remedy for this warranty is that Woodland Mills will at its discretion provide replacement parts to the original purchaser. This is a parts only warranty and excludes labour and/or other costs associated with replacing parts. Woodland Mills reserves the right to discontinue or change materials, parts, models, or products, or to make substitutions. Woodland Mills will ship replacement parts via a courier. Express shipping options may be available in certain regions and at an extra cost to the customer. Photos, videos, or the return of defective parts to Woodland Mills may be required for proper root cause and replacement. When defective parts are required to be returned, a pre-paid courier shipping label will be provided to the customer.

Warranty Limitations

This warranty does not apply to normal wear, commercial or rental use, after-market modification or damages that occur from negligence, misuse, or use not in accordance with the operating and maintenance instructions, or the products intended uses. Woodland Mills disclaims liability for any accidents, injury or damages to the equipment or personal property caused by the equipment when equipped with unauthorized parts, equipped with parts for unapproved purposes or modified in any other way. Woodland Mills will at its discretion make the final decision regarding warranty eligibility.

Disclaimer

Woodland Mills disclaims liability for any implied warranties, including implied warranties of ‘merchantability’ and ‘fitness for a specific purpose’ after the term of this Warranty.

Warranty Parts

Woodland Mills does its best to stock all parts, but in rare cases, parts may need to be ordered in and the customer will be notified upon arrival of required parts. Woodland Mills will not be liable for any damages associated with the unavailability of parts.

Warranty Exclusions

Wear items including, but not limited to belts, bearings, blades, bed plates, blade guide blocks, chainsaw chains, chainsaw bars, grinding teeth and tires are excluded from this warranty. Engines are not included within the Woodland Mills warranty.

Design Changes

Warrantor reserves the right to change the design of its products from time to time without notice and without obligation to make corresponding changes in or to its products previously manufactured.

Consequential Losses

Woodland Mills shall not be liable for any incidental or consequential losses, accidents, injury, damages, or expenses, arising directly or indirectly from the product, whether such claim is based upon breach of contract, breach of warranty, negligence, strict liability in tort or any other legal theory. Without limiting the generality of the foregoing, Woodland Mills specifically disclaims any damages relating to (i) lost profits, business, revenues, or goodwill; (ii) any expense or loss incurred for labour, supplies, substitute machinery or rental; or (iii) any other type of damage to property or economic loss.

Engine Warranty

Engines are covered by the manufacturer of the engine and covered by the warranty period specified by that manufacturer. All engine repairs, service and part replacements will not be done by Woodland Mills. The engine or complete piece of equipment must be taken to your local engine dealer to receive warranty consideration.
